Chris Hately
Bio
New to our D&D in a Castle roster this spring, but a very familiar face in our community, is the expertly nerdy Chris Hately. A veteran one-shot DM at the Castle, and a specialist in open table games with vast numbers of players, he has DM’d all over Newcastle, running campaigns for the likes of Brew Dog Newcastle, Langley Castle, and others. When not running D&D he can usually be found behind an espresso machine, teaching his young daughter how to paint and play wargames, or designing DM and player options for his D&D campaign setting.
Game Style
Chris’s game style carefully blends old school D&D adventure, modern design, and Lovecraftian horror. Utilising tense, tactical combat, deadly traps, otherworldly villains, and the player’s own madcap schemes, he pushes at the limits of both the character and the player, giving ample opportunity for them to triumph against incalculable odds, or hang themselves by their own petard.
