    #GettingStarted

  • The Mohican Castle is a newer castle, conceived in the late 20th century by entrepreneur Jim Landoll. Unlike the ancient castles of Europe, the Mohican Castle was built as a labor of love and a testament to craftsmanship and imagination. Situated in Loudonville, Ohio, amidst the lush forests of Mohican country, the castle serves as a unique blend of modern luxury and medieval fantasy. Its construction was inspired by Jim Landoll's travels in Europe and his desire to create a fairy-tale setting in the heart of Ohio. Today, the Mohican Castle offers a one-of-a-kind experience, with its towers, guest suites, and scenic grounds making it a sought-after destination for events, weddings, and, of course, immersive D&D adventures. The castle's relatively recent history adds a modern twist to the classic castle experience, inviting guests to create their own legends and tales in a setting that feels both timeless and distinctly American.

  • Lumley Castle stands out for its striking mixture of Norman and Gothic architectural elements, a testament to its long history stretching back over 600 years. One of the castle's most distinctive features is its quadrangular layout, typical of medieval fortifications, encompassing a central courtyard surrounded by high walls and defensive positions. This layout provided both security and a private, enclosed space for its inhabitants.

Additionally, the castle is renowned for its imposing Great Hall, a centerpiece of medieval architecture where banquets and important gatherings took place. The intricate stone carvings and masonry work throughout Lumley Castle, including its ornate windows and battlements, showcase the skilled craftsmanship of the period.

These architectural features not only highlight the castle's historical significance but also contribute to its enduring appeal as a landmark of cultural heritage.
