Thor an actor, game designer, and veteran with a special passion for D&D and the collaborative and emergent storytelling it so wonderfully creates!

Originally from Norway, "Thor" and the "Knai" family name are both ancient and steeped in folklore, and roaming around castles and forests in Europe was his childhood. The feel of old magic is real there, and he’ll make sure to weave it into your stories in a way that would make even the mystical "Sorcerer of Knai" proud. He has 25 years of DM-ing and almost 20 years of acting under his belt (Rebel Moon, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Reign, The Outpost ++), and he’s confident you'll will be able to tell your stories together in a memorable way.

He has run private games with some fairly illustrious players in Hollywood on a regular basis (Joe Manganiello, Vince Vaughn, Tom Morello, Craig Mazin, Dan Weiss, Kyle Newman ++), and although he absolutely encourages player participation, which you can imagine these folks are very good at, each table plays it’s own way. Everyone enjoys different aspects of the game, from voices, dramatic descriptions and morally challenging choices, to the thrill of battle, tactics, and great teamwork. Thor's loves it all!

Game Style

His games tend toward the "realistic" side of D&D, where vivid descriptions may make you question the moral grey-area players often find themselves in. He supplements 5e with his own house rules such as Crit tables and various other quality of life and tension-enhancing improvements. He is not a DM that tries to punish or "play against" his players. He endeavors to be fair and entertaining, and in his experience, some of the best moments happen when "mistakes" are made and things take an unexpected or unintended turn! The important thing to remember is that everyone is telling a story that all enjoy, together.
