D&D in a Castle will offer a truly epic adventure with Chronicle Mode in Spring 2025. This gaming mode offers one continuous Campaign across both back-to-back D&D in a Castle events. Guests who choose this option will play for 8 days in their quest for an unparalleled game. This format of game was so popular in Fall of 2024 that we added a second Chronicle Mode Campaign to those rounds, giving guests the choice of two distinct adventures for their D&D in a Castle experience.
The Chronicle Mode: "Immortal" Campaign being offered in Spring 2025 will take players through thousands of years of a world's history, seen through the eyes of their immortal characters. Each adventurer will achieve their immortality in their own distinct way, setting the stage for an epic narrative that transcends time.
Taking place during both rounds of the Spring 2025 D&D in a Castle event, this campaign offers an unprecedented 55-65 hours of immersive gameplay. Over the course of 8 days, you'll dive into at least 14 gaming sessions each packed with intrigue, adventure, and the thrill of discovery.
Each day of the campaign will feature two robust sessions set in different pivotal ages of the world's timeline. You'll navigate critical events of each era, with characters experiencing significant downtime between ages, allowing for deep roleplay and character development. This format encourages you to embrace worldbuilding and long-range planning, creating a rich tapestry of interconnected stories and legacies.
Your journey through time will be shaped by personalized rules of immortality. In collaboration with DM Mike Tinney, you'll design your character's unique path to eternal life, whether it be through regeneration, vampirism, reincarnation, artificial life, lichdom, or even time travel. Each age will also introduce its own distinct world rules, featuring different eras of technology, species dominance, and environmental conditions.
This campaign is for those who are ready to contribute to an epic saga, sharing and evolving through a story that spans the entirety of a world's history. Prepare to be captivated, challenged, and forever changed by an adventure that defies the boundaries of time.
Mike Tinney’s DM style is described as “Big Trouble in Little China meets Game of Thrones.” He loves delivering action scenes and difficult trade-offs, mixed with moments of daring, levity, and chutzpah. Mike tends to experiment in his games with both themes and customized mechanics and often uses flashbacks and backgrounding techniques that impact the current scene of the story. His content requires players to think on their feet, improvise, and make hard choices.
