Legacy of Frankenstein

by DM Beth the Bard

A century after Victor Frankenstein split open the world with his infamous experiments, Promethea stands as a broken monument to what science could have been—and what it became. The Unbreakable Heart, an arcane-biological device designed by Victoria Frankenstein (Victor’s daughter), has fractured reality itself. That rupture—the Rift—has begun spilling strange and ancient power into the world, reshaping biology, magic, and minds.

Victoria Frankenstein, long presumed dead, left behind hidden laboratories, forbidden research, and a daughter—Evelyn Moreau—who never knew she was a clone. Now, the university that once worshipped Victoria is scrambling to contain the consequences of her final work. But secrets don’t stay buried. Beneath the cobblestone streets and rain-slick rooftops lie sealed labs, ghost data, and resurrected experiments looking for answers—or vengeance.

This is Hardcore Mode: choices matter, and consequences bite hard. You are not the hero of prophecy—you are a survivor of bad timing and worse genetics. Everything you love can be taken. Everyone you meet is hiding something. The world is beautiful and broken. It wants to change you, swallow you, or turn you into something useful.

“Frankenstein’s world didn’t die. It metastasized.”
