Bio

Jim Zub is a writer, artist and art instructor based in Toronto, Canada. Over the past twenty years he’s worked for a diverse array of publishing, movie and video game clients including Marvel, DC Comics, Disney, Capcom, Hasbro, Cartoon Network, and Bandai-Namco.

He juggles his time between being a freelance writer and a professor teaching drawing and storytelling courses in Seneca Polytechnic’s award-winning Animation program.

His current projects include Conan the Barbarian, the monthly adventures of Robert E. Howard’s legendary sword & sorcery hero, and Dungeons & Dragons, the official comic series of the world’s most popular tabletop role-playing game.

Game Style

Curse of the Crucible is an adventure where adventurers discover the mysteries and mayhem lurking behind a twisted trap-laden tournament overseen by a city worshiping the God of Death. “The Crucible” tournament has been run for the past 50 years and this year, with your help, a team may finally emerge victorious...

Jim has been running Dungeons & Dragons since first edition and his Dungeon Mastering style marries a classic dungeon delve approach with modern character-centric stakes and dramatic role-play. Sword & sorcery-fueled challenges lurk around every corner, but memorable thrills and humor as well. Over the past 20 years, Zub has written dozens of fan-favorite stories for legendary fantasy and superhero characters in comics, prose, and TTRPGs. He brings that same passion and enthusiasm to the gaming table at D&D in a Castle.
