“The Long Night”
Every century, a vampire queen rises and prepares to take over the world and turn living into cattle for her undead empire. You are all that stands between the innocent and a world locked in eternal night. Prepare for a rogue-like adventure in a vampire's castle!
In this horror-themed hardcode mode campaign, each player will create a family of six different characters trained in a unique monster-hunting profession that adds extra character options to your characters. You're gonna need them! You'll select one character to enter the castle with the other player characters and brave traps and denizens to face the queen. Many of these challenges will be too tough to handle with steel and magic alone, so you need to know when to fight, when to flee, and when to think outside the box and work as a team to survive. If just one member of the party dies, the rest of the heroes are shunted from the castle as it rearranges its wings. Then a new group of player characters, one remaining member from each family, enters, a bit more powerful thanks to extra time to train and armed with the knowledge and some of the treasures gained of the previous band. You've only got six chances to stop the undead queen, so play wisely.
Odds are you're going to die at least once. But that's okay, because you'll have a lot of backup characters. Just know that failure is ABSOLUTELY an option. No punches will be pulled. You're starting at 1st level, but you'll have plenty of opportunities to make it further.
This campaign uses unique rules for professions, resting, and character advancement. It pushes players to the limit by placing them in a deadly environment and asking them to try to not only survive, but make tough moral choices that affect the fate of the world over the course of a 36-hour campaign. This is hardcore mode. It's going to be a killer time.
